Recently, our Takanini and Papakura Family Services Centres successfully hosted immunisation outreach clinics in partnership with UniChem Pakuranga, bringing vital healthcare services closer to local whānau.

With winter upon us, our Family Service Centres partnered with Unichem Pakuranga Pharmacy to provide a community space where whānau could check their immunisation status, ask questions, and receive trusted health advice. For many families, it was an opportunity to catch up on missed or delayed vaccinations, gain a better understanding of immunisation schedules and eligibility, and take proactive steps to protect their health and wellbeing during the colder months.

Over 30 people attended the clinic at our centres, helping to protect children, parents, and wider family from preventable illnesses.

Families were able to spend one-on-one time with pharmacists to ask questions and make informed decisions about their wellbeing. One family shared their appreciation after their child with autism and their sibling received vaccinations in a supportive space. We also connected with families of premature children who had previously experienced serious respiratory illnesses, providing reassurance and support around ongoing immunisation needs.

With the support of Unichem Pakuranga Pharmacy, these community-based clinics provided families with easier access to healthcare, trusted advice, and immunisation services close to home. By bringing services directly into the community, the clinics help build health knowledge and support healthier outcomes for whānau across South Auckland.

A big thank you to the teams at our Takanini and Papakura Family Services Centres and Unichem Pakuranga Pharmacy. Their care and partnership continue to make a meaningful difference in the health and wellbeing of our local communities.
