Rain or shine – we always have fun at Takanini Playgroup

At Takanini Family Service Centre, our licensed playgroup is a free service for parents/caregivers to come along with their children under-fives. The playgroup hours are Tuesdays between 9 – 12pm and Thursdays 11:30 – 2:30pm (except on school holidays).

"Hassat, who is a one-year-old, absolutely loves her time at playgroup," says her mother, Rajbir. "She eagerly puts on her shoes every morning, excited to join her new friends and explore new things."

Here at the Licensed Playgroup at Takanini Family Service Centre, parents bring their little ones to play and learn together in a safe space designed for children under five. "It’s wonderful for her to be here because there are children her age to interact with, whereas, at home, there isn't anyone her age," says Hassat’s mother. Children get to unleash their creativity through fun activities, try out new games, enjoy their Storytime, and stay active on the playground.

Ruzan, Playgroup Coordinator at Takanini Family Service Centre, says, “It’s really rewarding to see smiles on children’s faces and to watch how much they enjoy playing and exploring new things.”

It is also a great opportunity for parents to connect while having fun with their little ones. This supportive community offers a place where both children and parents can enjoy their time together. There is something for every child and parent here at our Playgroup in Takanini.
