As winter approaches along with the flu season, the Community Influenza Immunization Programme was organised at our Family Service Centres (FSC) in Takanini and Papakura, with support from Te Whatu Ora and Unichem Pakuranga Pharmacy, offering vaccination support to our communities.

Over two days, more than 60 families from a diverse group including migrants, those facing deprivation, Māori, and Pacifica populations received vaccination support at our Family Service Centres. Thanks to a generous donation from Lane Neave Lawyers, we were able to give away health bags filled with essential supplies to all community members who joined the Community Influenza Immunization Programme.

“Seeing the happy faces of people getting vaccinated reminds me of how important our work is. Together, our Family Service Centres in Takanini and Papakura are making the future of our communities much healthier and safer,” says Nupur, FSC Takanini Administrator.

“The vaccine programme has been very successful as the family participation has significantly increased. We look forward to expanding the vaccine programme to more families next year,” says Perry, Social Services Team Leader, FSC.

A big thank you to our teams at the Family Service Centres in Takanini and Papakura, the Community Influenza Immunization programme, and Lane Neave Lawyers. Their support has been vital in helping our communities in South Auckland.
