A new look for our Family Service Centre

Our tamariki and staff at the Papakura Family Service Centre have noticed the big difference the new installed carpet has made. With the support of Carpet Court Takanini and RhinoKids Flooring, we’ve been able to install carpet floors in different areas of the Centre.

In mid-August, we received generous support from Carpet Court Takanini and RhinoKids Flooring for the of new carpet in our Papakura Centre. This upgrade couldn’t have come at a better time, as more families in our community are joining our Early Learning Centre and utilising the various services we provide.

The new look and feel of the room have made big improvement to the space, creating a warmer and spacious environment for our young tamariki to learn and grow in. It has been great to see our Papakura community enjoying this new space. One staff member shared that it "it enhanced the feeling of ambiance," and another mentioned that it "made a huge difference towards the noise levels," which is particularly important when working with clients.

We are incredibly grateful Carpet Court Takanini and RhinoKids Flooring has made the choice to support Great Potentials Foundation.

RhinoKids Flooring is an initiative by Carpet Court aimed at improving learning environments for Kiwi kids. Carpet Court are on a mission to help improve Kiwi kids’ learning environments by rolling out a nationwide fund to put new flooring where Kiwi kids need it most and Make Room for More. Keeping the flu out of our homes

As winter approaches along with the flu season, the Community Influenza Immunization Programme was organised at our Family Service Centres (FSC) in Takanini and Papakura, with support from Te Whatu Ora and Unichem Pakuranga Pharmacy, offering vaccination support to our communities.
Rain or shine – we always have fun at Takanini Playgroup

At Takanini Family Service Centre, our licensed playgroup is a free service for parents/caregivers to come along with their children under-fives. The playgroup hours are Tuesdays between 9 – 12pm and Thursdays 11:30 – 2:30pm (except on school holidays).
HIPPY Conference 2024: Connection and Collaboration

Our HIPPY (Home Interaction Programme for Parents and Youngsters) coordinators from across 27 communities in New Zealand came together for a two-day conference packed with valuable training and insightful discussions. This year's theme highlighted the importance of 'Connection and Collaboration'.
