To celebrate our children who turn five years old and get them ready for school, our Papakura Early Learning Centre has recently connected with School Start First Impressions. They gift children who are turning 5 years old a "5 KitBox" with a range of resources supporting the child/tamaiti for their first day of school and celebrating the child's milestone 5th birthday.

Last week, Nikki, General Manager of School Start First Impressions, and Jana, Administration Manager of School Start First Impressions visited our Papakura Family Service Centre. They shared their stories of working with early learning centres, Plunket, Papakura Marae and communities in Franklin and South Auckland, and showed us a sample of the 5 KitBox.

We are amazed to see the range of items in the 5 KitBox. There is a full range of resources supporting the child/tamaiti for their first day of school, including a school backpack, lunch box, uniform, shoes and socks, stationery etc., as well as a celebration range including birthday treats, gifts, and books to celebrate a child’s milestone 5th birthday.

“The provision of a 5 KitBox is totally child centric designed to alleviate inequity for that child who is starting their school journey. All items relate to the child’s interests and are presented in a beautifully named celebration box with a note from us. SSFI hopes to relieve the pressure from parents with the inclusion of stationery, school uniform, and a contribution to donations if required, a swim bag which includes togs, towel, and goggles. ”- School Start First Impressions

Thank you, School Start First Impressions, for providing incredible support to our children/ tamariki!
